Briggs & Stratton -18.5 HP – Unit Replacement on manual?
I'm so backyard mechanic and I was Yardmachines convinced that my horse with a 18.5 HP Briggs mower (mod 42A707) need a new magnet. I have not a service manual, so I hope someone can tell me is "how do ", or me directly to a website step by step describes the process of module replacement. Otherwise, I'll have to break and pay the repair shop ………… HELP! PS – briggsandstratton.com provides instructions for routine maintenance only. I am looking for some detail (ignition coil) instructions.
Before condemning the first test module! Remove the lid / cover and disconnect the black brake cable and turn off the engine. Do you have spark now? If you do, leave the wire is clamped and reel to land somewhere along its length. It's time to fetch the pinch point. If you do not have the spark, the module is dead. To replace the module, remove the cap and cowl, turn the wheel magnet for the module. Remove the screws and remove the bad coil. Coverage of the wheel magnet with a common card. (For settlement of separation) that organize the new magnet coil in the steering wheel with the card between the coil / magnet and reinstall the mounting bolts. Remove the card by turning the wheel. Reinstall the cable stop on protection and care not to pinch your child.
