Cycling along the Mississippi River
The historic Great River Road along the Mississippi River is a relaxing place against the picturesque countryside this side of North America. Cyclists will enjoy the experience of traveling through nearly 3,000 kilometers and passes through 10 U.S. states.
Great River Trail along the Mississippi settlement was built in 1938 by the governors of 10 states in the river that was thought to be connected to the existing network of rural roads and highways then become the Great River Road, also called the Mississippi River Road. The result was a mixture varied cultures and interesting landscapes in the river of each state as a green area, big cities and rural areas and large spaces rustic scenes, charming communities and the Delta.
From birth along Itasca, Minnesota to the Delta in the Gulf of Mexico, Louisiana, Mississippi River Trail Cycling is a world-class road from 10 states and the cities of St. Louis, Minneapolis, New Orleans, Memphis and many cities along the route.
The Mississippi River Trail project addresses the need for alternative transportation and therefore conservation of natural resources. He also became an added come-on tourism opportunities. Adventure seekers have also found the way very attractive especially for cyclists.
The place is full of interesting places to visit in the river trails to cyclists. In Minnesota, cyclists begin Itasca Park, a paved bicycle path of 20 miles through the pines and birches Minnesota North Woods. After the park, the road crosses the river and roads along the campaign and Bemidji. The Paul Bunyan Road will lead to the breeding and lake country. There are also fishing spots and golf courses along the road.

On the border of Missouri, you can find more farms and small towns which are strangely beautiful in its own right. The trail also crosses the home of Mark Twain. Therefore, some areas still retain the charm of the old and the influence of the former colonial history French.
Cyclists also will go through Kentucky. He is known for being the first in place of the Chickasaw Indians. There are beautiful, rich and valleys with some wooded areas. Overlooking the river is the Columbus Belmont State Park offers a spectacular view of the Mississippi River and the Missouri shore. We can camp here and see the sunset sun on the Mississippi River.
In Tennessee, places of interest can vary considerably quiet. The Reelfoot Lake State Park is a paradise for incredible flora and fauna. You can also pass by the mansion of Elvis Presley, Graceland and the legendary Peabody Hotel.
