Breast reconstruction surgery and postoperative care
Breast reconstruction offers hope to women who have lost or face the possibility of losing his mother (s) of cancer or other diseases. Breast reconstruction is usually performed using implants or your own abdominal tissue. In most cases, however, Plastic surgeons use tissue expanders and implants to restore the size and shape of the breast. extensor tissues are devices such as a breast implant that is inserted below the chest wall muscle (pectoral muscle) immediately after mastectomy. After a short recovery period, saline injected into the tissue expanders periodically using a small needle. Once the size and shape of the breast is performed with the tissue expander, a second surgery to removing the tissue expander and insert the breast implant. This second surgery is often performed as an outpatient.
You may wonder, why not place an immediate implant after mastectomy. In a mastectomy, an ellipse of skin around the nipple and areola (the pigmented area around the nipple) is taken usually with the breast tissue. This creates a deficit in the skin must be replaced. A tissue expander allows the growth of skin substitute as the implant expansion of the overlying skin. Once the skin replacement is sufficient in form and size of the new breast, a breast implant is inserted
After a healing period, A new nipple can be rebuilt in the skin overlying the implant and a new nipple can be tattooed shortly after.

Do not lift your arm over your shoulder level for three weeks. Do not pick heavier objects like a telephone.
Do not apply a hot compress on your breasts. Some parts of your breasts will be numb and you can get a heating pad burn. Cold compresses in the first 48 hours after surgery is safe and may help reduce swelling. Apply cold compresses in the film of ACE not directly on the breasts and nipples.
Scar your incisions will begin two weeks after surgery. Your plastic surgeon will instructions on scar creams.
You can return to normal activity and exercise for three weeks after surgery.
If you're constipated, take laxatives without a prescription. You do not want to stress in the toilet. This can lead to increased blood pressure and cause bleeding.
