What better way to develop a culture of autumn?
I live in Kansas where the soil is rocky, free and full of red clay and coal. I had a garden in the last two years. What and when should I plant for fall harvest? I have room for things that some of my lines I bathed in the rain. I need to know what works specificall for fall harvest and when to plant. All this can be canned or frozen is more! Thanks! Immediately suggest pumpkin seed as a month for planting, so buy pre-germinated eggplant and vegetables to fill the ranks of the garden that are empty. Parsley works well in my hand wet mash of potatoes in my garden, I would add the basil and other herbs that grow in moist soil. Spinach, kale, kohlrabi, mustard greens and will run all winter. If you start plants from seeds of onions and garlic at the moment to be harvested in June next year, really big pumpkins and tasty if planted at this time. If you have full sun, the sunflower plant now. Good luck!
