What is the best fuel filter for my Yamaha outboard saltwater series c. 2250?
Gas tends to have water or waste and my the engine is a bit sensitive to both. What is the best out there? In particular the water. Now I use a Racor filter S3228UL.
Mercury spun in the great filter, but is one of if not the best fitting. If you get water and debris in your gas, we must find another supplier or polish your fuel tank (pumping and filtering and returned). Also check ventilation (which should be directed to the rear and below) and filling joints. Ethanol gas is said to be very sensitive to moisture, and extract moisture from the atmosphere and the tank through the vent. You must keep a full tank when not in use.
